Electronics Recycling

Every year tons and tons of electronic devices are dumped into our Wisconsin landfills. Habitat for Humanity of Wausau has joined forces with Vintage Tech Recyclers Inc. of Illinois in an effort to recycle used electronics. Vintage Tech Recyclers is an R2 ISO14001, and WBENC certified electronics recycler that specializes in electronics take back programs. Why Vintage Tech? They have the latest destruction software available, use NIST800-88 compliant data wiping software called Blancco. They have Data Destruct Plus which provides hard drive shredding and crushing to provide physical destruction. Vintage Tech guarantees that all information is wiped and destroyed in compliance with R2 and e-Stewards certification.

Starting March 3rd, 2012, Habitat for Humanity of Wausau will launch the recycling program in which all electronic items will be accepted in return for a small monetary donation to our building program. We will accept Computers, Laptops, Monitors, Televisions, Printers, Fax machines, Scanners, DVD Players, Stereos, VCR’s, Video Game Councils, Peripheral Items, Keyboards, Mice, PDA and Cell Phones, MP3/IPods, All Telephones, UPS Batteries, Copiers, Typewriters, Cash Registers, Networking Equipment, Cable and Satellite Boxes and Dishes, Holiday Lights, Cameras, and Microwaves. All monies collected through this program will be used to construct new homes for low income families in the Wausau area.

Collections will be accepted every Saturday from 9am to 1pm at our Recycled Building Material (RBM) facility located at 500 S 38th Avenue, Wausau, Wisconsin. The RBM is located off Stewart Avenue one block North of Modern Builders lumber yard.
